Winterfest
Dates & Times: Nov 29-30, 10am – 8pm
Location: Bloomsburg Fairgrounds
The weekend after Thanksgiving, the four main buildings at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds host Winterfest, a celebration of arts, crafts, wine, beer, and live music. On Friday night, downtown Bloomsburg becomes awash with lights, and a parade courses through the town. Early Saturday morning, the season begins with the FA LA LA 5K. Then start your holiday shopping with 200 vendors!
Knoebel’s Amusement Park Joy Through The Grove
Dates & Times: Nov 29 – Jan 31, 5:30 – 9pm
Location: 391 Knoebel’s Blvd, Rt 487, Elysburg, PA
Closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
Knoebels Amusement Park brings back this spectacular drive-through experience. With more than 15 miles of string lights and 500 light-up pieces, Joy Through the Grove is the perfect way to start a holiday experience. The entire display is two miles long, and you can tune into the special radio station for this holiday music during your ride.
Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble’s A Christmas Story
Dates: Nov 24 – Dec 28
Location: Alvina Krause Theater, 266 Center St, Bloomsburg, PA
Come to the theater for the return of a holiday favorite, “A Christmas Carol,” presented by the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble. Everyone loves the story of young Ralphie’s quest for a Red Ryder BB gun. Return to the simpler times of Indiana in the 1930s for a heartwarming family saga.
TreeFest
Dates & Times: Nov 29 – Dec 8, 4 – 8pm
Location: Caldwell Consistory, 150 North Market St, Bloomsburg, PA
This year is Bloomsburg’s 35th TreeFest, a fundraiser for the Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble. Come and view dozens of trees decorated by local businesses and individuals. The themes range from traditional to fun to inspiring, with trees donated by local growers. At the end of the festival, all trees and proceeds are donated to local families in need.
Danville Hometown Holiday Market
Dates & Times: Dec 7, 11am – 4pm
Location: Mill St, Downtown Danville, PA
Take a short ride to Danville for the second annual Danville Hometown Holiday Market. This fun street fair features crafters and special offers from local businesses. There will be live music and holiday-themed activities.
Berwick Christmas Boulevard
Dates & Times: Dec, 6 – 10pm
Location: N Market St, Berwick, PA
Head to Market St. in nearby Berwick, PA, to see a street lit with thousands of lights to welcome the season. The celebration really starts in mid-November with a community tree-cutting. The downtown transforms into Christmas Boulevard with lights all aglow.
Mifflinburg’s Christkindl Market
Dates & Times: Dec 12-14, Thu 4:30 – 9pm, Fri 10am – 9pm, Sat 10am – 8pm
Location: Entrances at 4th and Market St, 6th and Market St, 5th and Green St, and 5th and Chestnut St, Mifflinburg, PA (Shuttle service available).
Inspired by a 700-year-old German tradition, Mifflinburg’s Christkindl Market is the oldest authentic outdoor German market in the United States. This market is the largest German Christmas market near Bloomsburg, PA, and is one of the oldest in the state. Over the course of three days, visit over 100 craft vendors in outdoor huts displaying their unique gifts. Taste a variety of traditional foods like Apfel Streudel, Schnitzel, German sausages, Hungarian Goulash, Polish Haluski, soups, cookies, and candy. Watch the Lantern Parade and enjoy live musical entertainment and the marionette shows.
