Central PA Christmas Tree Farms: Where to Cut Your Own Christmas Tree

You can cut down your own Christmas tree at three different Christmas tree farms near Bloomsburg in North Central Pennsylvania. When finding the perfect tree, you can cut it with a hand saw or let the tree farm do it for you. When it’s cut, they’ll shake, drill, and bail your tree, too! Most tree farms also offer pre-cut trees and holiday items like wreaths, swags, and décor. Cookies and hot chocolate are served, of course! You’ll find different kinds of live Christmas trees grown on these Pennsylvania tree farms: Fraser Fir with soft, emerald green needles, Douglas Fir with lush, blue-green foliage, Blue Spruce with silvery blue foliage, and Concolor Fir with soft, silvery-blue needles and a citrusy aroma.

Ponduce Farms

Grab your tree, then grab lunch! Located in Elysburg, PA, Ponduce Farms is family-run farm and eatery that serves everything from breakfast to Christmas trees. They specialize in Fraser Firs and Douglas Firs. Their Douglas Fir trees run for $55, and their Concolor and Frasers are $65. Ponduce Farms also has fresh pre-cut trees, swags, and wreaths.

Catch a free hayride out to the Christmas tree field to pick out your tree, where they can also help take your picture. Don’t forget to stop inside their gift shop for free hot chocolate after you’re done! Their Wreath Barn Gift Shop sells tons of cute gift items and holiday décor. 

The tree farm is open Friday, November 24th, then Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am – 4 pm. The last day to visit their tree farm is December 17th.

Ecology III Christmas Tree Farm

Sometimes its best to keep it simple. Ecology III Christmas Tree Farm is located in Orangeville, PA, where they carry five kinds of trees: Douglas Fir, Fraser Fir, Blue Spruce, Concolor Fir, and Charlie Brown trees. 

Avoid the Griswald family Christmas tree drama. These guys will shake, drill, and bale your trees for free, so you won’t need to worry about someone saying, “Dad, did you bring the saw?” They have wide varieties to choose from and all the tools to do the job and even offer drinks and refreshments to warm you up afterwards. They open Nov 24, and will be open Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 9am to 5 pm until Christmas. 

Kohl’s Stony Creek Tree Farm

Why not do your Christmas shopping while you get your tree? Kohl’s Stony Creek Tree Farm in Milton, PA is the ultimate Christmas destination. In addition to an impressively stocked tree farm, their Christmas Shoppe has everything you could conceivably need for the holidays. It stocks over 100,000 ornaments and carries tree skirts, stockings, lights, and so much more. 

Their tree farm near Bloomsburg has four live Christmas tree varieties: Douglas Fir, Frasier Fir, Concolor Fir, and Blue Spruce. They will supply a cart and saw to haul your tree back. In addition to trees, they offer fresh wreaths, greens, and centerpieces. Their live Christmas tree sales begin Nov 2.

Helen and Ted’s Tree Farm

Looking for an old-school, small-town tree farm? Helen and Ed’s Tree Farm has been in business since 1957. They offer a wide selection of both self-cut and fresh-cut trees, delivered daily by wagon from less accessible areas of their farm. There is a large variety of trees to choose from:  

  • Pine (White, Austrian and Scotch Pine)
  • Fir (Fraser, Canaan, Balsam, Douglas, Concolor )
  • Spruce (Colorado Blue, White, Norway)
  • Wreaths (Fraser, Douglas fir, Blue Spruce, Scotch Pine)

All the trees are hand-sheared annually for the best shape. They offer trees as tall as 20 feet. Additional services include drilling for stands, pin tree stands, and tree wrapping. You can enjoy a festive atmosphere with holiday music, plenty of parking, and easy access from Interstate 81.
