Visitors can enjoy Samek Art Museum’s exhibits both in the Gallery at the Elaine Langone Center in the heart of the Bucknell University campus and at the Downtown Gallery in Lewisburg. A new Museum program is The Connections Gallery, presenting monthly exhibitions by invited partners including faculty, students, campus centers, and community organizations. In addition to these galleries, the Museum includes the Study Gallery, the Museum Collection Study Room, and 450 works spread throughout the campus, including the Weis Center for the Arts lobby.

The museum’s permanent collection, begun in 1853, now includes 5,000 works of art from North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Holdings span from objects dating before the common era to those of the 21st century, and continue to grow. It boasts works by well-known artists from Rembrandt and Picasso to Whistler and Warhol.
Each year, the Museum presents approximately 12 exhibitions and numerous public programs including tours, lectures and receptions in keeping with its core mission to “create meaningful encounters between artists, students, scholars, the public, and works of art.” The Museum’s exhibitions and public programs are free to the public.
